Toe Jimmy Manyi die amptelike woordvoerder van die regering word het ek gewaarsku dit is nie ‘n goeie gedagte nie. Die man het te veel bagasie en vyande. Net ʼn rukkie daarna het Solidariteit die “Manyi tape” gepubliseer op You Tube en al die Bruinmense en Indiërs was vies vir hom. As die regering se hoof-kommunikeerder kan Jimmy Manyi nie glo dat sommige mense nie so baie van die regering hou nie en nog minder van hom.
Joernalis Mandy de Waal dink ook dit is nie ʼn goeie idee dat die staat sy eie koerant begin nie.

Taxation is dependent entirely on the will of the governed. The greatest revolutions in history were accomplished when the governed stood up and said to the governors to hell with you and your unwelcome taxes. The American Revolution, the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution and so we can go on and on through history.
After the municipal elections in May this year we are about to be forced without consultation, to pay for taxes on the roads where more than 40% of our Gross National Product is produced viz on every single major highway within Gauteng, and in violation of a Statute still on the books that obliges the authorities only to apply tolls on roads where there are alternative routes. These do not exist, so think what your suburbs are going to look like as all the heavy duty 18 and 26 wheelers leave the highways and start using your suburban streets to avoid these ludicrous taxes, imposed on us without so much as a by your leave? Enough with this.

Palabora agrees 3-year wage deal with unions (Mining Weekly)
Copper miner Palabora said on Friday it had concluded a three-year wage agreement with both the NUM and Solidarity, in terms of which there will be an 8.5% wage increase for 2011/12, followed by similar increases in 2012/13 and 2013/14. it says the agreements will create operational stability for the employees and for the company

Food, administered prices threat to inflation outlook (The New Age)
The Reserve Bank’s monetary policy committee says the biggest risks to the inflation outlook remain food and administered prices, in particular oil prices. Governor Gill Marcus says the increase in administered prices remains a concern as they jumped by 10.2% last year, more than double the overall consumer inflation rate of 4.3%

Inwoners van Dealesville het vandag dienslewering in hulle eie hande geneem. Verskeie inwoners het op eie koste ʼn nuwe boorgatpomp geïnstalleer ten einde normale watervoorsiening aan die dorp te verseker. Dit volg nadat die dorp vir jare onder gebrekkige watervoorsiening gebuk gaan.
